Variable Connections -  I work with aluminium wire: a thread. Ductile, shiny and somehow “modern”, this thread emanates both strength and plasticity.  Manipulating it, I weave units of different sizes which I then assemble into a vast mesh. From these units, intricate connections emerge in rhythmic variations. Complex convolutions, spirals, interlinkages: primordial symbols and archetypal ideas from my universe.

 

Pulverisations.  For painting, iterations of my aluminium modules are treated in a different way.  Once laid on white paper, I spray them with colours (preferably black).  The traces appearing on the paper reflect my three-dimensional universe in two dimensions.

 

Thread Traces.  I also put my aluminium threads through the printing press to create embossed paper. The results are very intriguing...  In contrast with my “Variable Connections” and my “Pulverisations”, the traces which appear on the white paper are delicate, colourless, sometimes gentle.
